Enjoy a Whistler snowmobile experience unlike any other. Fly over, ride on, and explore the inner magic of the Ice Cap located at the doorstep of Whistler. These full day backcountry adventure expeditions allow you to spend more time playing in the most spectacular terrain on the planet on state-of-the-art mountain snowmobiles. Head-Line’s snowmobile and snowbiking experiences are also perfect for special events and private groups.

 

Our professional guides are the most experienced pioneers in the mountain sledding industry with over 25 years’ experience in the Whistler corridor. We are particularly skilled at coaching riders of all abilities to enhance their skills in all conditions. These adventures are designed with a high guide to guest ratio, resulting in personalized service every step of the way.

Fly over, ride on, and explore the inner magic of Head-Line’s Ice Cap. After gearing up at our Whistler Heliport base, we’ll board the helicopter for a spectacular flight to our exclusive “Heli-Dome” located on the Ice Cap. Your professional mountain guide will lead you on state-of-the-art mountain snowmobiles on an expedition across 8,000 foot ice fields and over mountain tops to secret ice caves. Whenever possible, we’ll dine in the comfort of these breathtaking 15,000 year old ice caves. This experience has endless terrain options and will definitely leave you wishing for more.  This adventure will be fully customized to your group’s skill level.

 

A Snowbike can be booked as part of this experience if you have the relevant experience.  Snowbikes are the latest in technological advancements in the snowmobiling industry. Converted Motocross bikes include a track and ski are easy to operate, especially on our vast open ice fields. Nimble, fluid and fun are understatements for these marvels of exploration. Lightweight and powerful and in many cases, easier to operate than a snowmobile.

 

Timing and costs:

  • Starting From: $1,695* per person.
  • Duration: Full Day.
  • Departure: 8:45 AM (Custom departures available).
  • Season: Mid-January to May (Snow conditions dependent).
  • Riders: Single riders only.
  • Passengers: Two passenger minimum.
  • Skill Level: Strong and fit individuals. Please ensure to confirm each group member’s ability level when confirming your tour. Please see ability tab for more information on qualifying your experience with Head-Line Mountain Holidays.

 

Note: An additional mandatory fee of $35.00 per driver for machine collision coverage. When applicable, it covers the first $1,000.

When coming on a Heli Snowmobile / Snowbike experience, remember to bring a sense of adventure, camera, sunscreen, sunglasses, toque, and winter outerwear (dress for skiing/snowboarding).

    When booking a Heli Snowmobile /Snowbike Experience it’s important to note that these are big mountain adventures and providing individual ability level for each group member will help ensure we are able to tailor the best possible experience for you. If you over estimate your ability it will affect the pace of the day and terrain selection.  Below is how Head-Line Mountain Holidays defines ability levels:

 

  • Double Black Diamond: Individuals in this category will own their own sled, safety equipment and helmet, and will snowmobile a minimum of 30 days a year. They will be able to confidently: side hill, carve, manage forested terrain especially in deep powder, boondocking, climb, and can self-extract snowmobile.

 

  • Black Diamond: Individuals in this category will have relatively all of the same experience as the Double Black Diamond, but could use some coaching.

 

  • Intermediate: Individuals in this category will have limited to no snowmobile experience. They might have some jet skiing, dirt biking, ATV and/or UTV experience.

 

  • Beginner or Never Ever: Individuals in this category will have no relevant mechanized experience. These guests might require different machinery, different pricing, a different location, and might require groomed trails. In these instances, these guests would have a private, customized experience which may allow for double riding.

Premium Package: Starting From $6,995 for 1-5 people

Our full-day ground-based snowmobile adventure travels along groomed trails through old-growth forests, open meadows, and frozen alpine lakes. This expedition style tour will lead you through alpine terrain to the Ice Cap to explore big mountain terrain. Our professional guides will coach and mentor you throughout the day so that you spend more time playing and will offer up a mountain lunch in select locations when it’s time to rest. We have a wide range of terrain options that will excite even the most seasoned sledders. This adventure will be fully customized to your group’s skill level.

 

A Snowbike can be booked as part of this experience if you have the relevant experience and are able to reach the “Heli Dome” on the Ice Cap.  Snowbikes are the latest in technological advancements in the snowmobiling industry.
